Kosovo Customs Marks 25th Anniversary with Landmark Achievements

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of Kosovo Customs. The EU in Kosovo has provided continuous support to Kosovo Customs both in terms of capacity building and direct support to improve every day operations through different projects over the years. 

On 1st of August, Kosovo Customs achieved an important milestone by collecting over EUR 1 billion in revenues, marking a significant success. Kosovo Customs attributes this new record to a combination of factors, including: improved customs procedures; implementation of new systems and technologies to simplify and expedite customs processes; fight against smuggling and tax evasion; promotion of institutional transparency and increased public awareness and education of residents and businesses about the importance of compliance with customs laws. 

The EU-funded technical assistance ‘Support to the Implementation of Public Finance Management Reforms in Kosovo’ is providing significant support to Kosovo Customs in the areas of legislative reforms, streamlining customs procedures, and capacity building.
