The European Union Information and Cultural Centre in Pristina, on the 15th of August welcomed the exhibition titled “Scrolling” by visual artist Yll Xhaferi.
A considerable number of people were present on the opening night of the exhibition, paving their way around the nine imaginary maps, where green, grey skies and people relaxing in weird environments invited for reflections and critical thinking.
The exhibition portrays a journey over the city’s narrative history with its collective memory and psychological landscape, facing a confusing and a complex individual and his attempt to make these memories monumental.
Vjosa Berisha, Team Leader at the European Union Information and Cultural Centre, welcomed the audience.
“This is the beginning of a new series of art exhibitions we will be organizing here at EUICC in Pristina. Xhaferi is an established artist and his inspiration is now here for everyone to visit and reflect upon artistic works and different dimensions the pieces offer” Berisha stated in her word.
Yll Xhaferi is a young visual artist from Pristina. He has graduated at the Faculty of Arts in University of Pristina and holds a master degree in Visual Arts. Xhaferi is a finalist at the Artist of Tomorrow Award by the National Gallery in 2012 and participated in various visual art exhibitions in town e.g. Prishtina Mon Amour at the Youth Centre Boro and Ramizi, Livrit – (as part of SURF, curated by Erzen Shkololli), Bienale Meditterana – Milano and Tirana, as well as his personal exhibition titled Toy Story at the Motrat Art Gallery.
