The EU Information and Cultural Centre in Pristina welcomed the students, parents and teachers of ten best applicants for the essay competition “What does the EU mean to me.”
“It is a really difficult question to answer. It is difficult to talk about something you haven’t tried before or never been part of. It is the same as asking a Syberian talk about a hot day at the beach, which they have only seen it on TV.” This is how Bardha Citaku, student of the school “Frang Bardhi” from Mitrovica started her essay, who was awarded with a first prize in the competition.
The essay of Jasmina Krama, student of 12th grade from Mitrovica North was evaluated for the third best essay, whereas Rona Roka from Gjakova got awarded with the second prize in the competition.
In her speech Dinka Zivalj spokesperson of the EU in Kosovo pointed out to be surprised with the maturity expressed in the manner of speaking of students participants in the competition. All the points mentioned in your essays, are exactly those topics which the EU talks about constantly in their various events and debates, bexause rule of law, education and other issues alike the EU considers as crucial for the country.
The best essay competition on the subject “What does the EU mean to me?” marked the first EUICC competition during this year, meanwhile the EUICC will soon launch new competitions like the one on best green project and best short film.
