From 11-17th of October, the EU office in Kosovo, together with Europe House Kosovo, Embassy of Sweden in Kosovo, Embassy of the Netherlands in Kosovo, NGO “Let’s Do It Peja” and BIRN Kosovo, organized the Climate Diplomacy Week 2021, with the aim of raising awareness on climate change challenges.
In the opening day of the Climate Diplomacy Week, EU Ambassador in Kosovo Tomas Szunyog, addressed Kosovo’s audience with a video-message.
Meanwhile, the premises of the EU office in Kosovo and Europe House in Pristina and North Mitrovica were lit with the green light.
On 12th of October a video was posted about climate change and EU’s plan to address it.
NGO “Let’s do it Peja” organized an exhibition with redesigned clothes.
To learn more about Kosovo and EU’s Green Deal, a panel discussion was held.
Also “Let’s Do it Peja” presented the findings of the Air Quality Monitoring and Polluters Mapping Report for the municipality of Peja/Peć and Gjakova/Đakovica.
An article by BIRN Kosovo on pollution and the global challenges that Kosovo faces was also published.
On the last day of the campaign, an interview with professor Hans Schellnhuber, Director of Postdam Institute was published. Professor Schellnhuber explained climate challenges and means of preventing them.
