“Daniel”, “I Have Never Been on an Airplane” and actress Eli Gashi triumph at the EUFF 2021 in Kosovo

After nine nights of screenings of international and local films, the third edition of the European Film Festival in Kosovo concluded today, with the award ceremony at Kino ARMATA in Pristina, in the presence of film lovers, and the Deputy Head of Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Office in Kosovo, Juan Biurrun.

Since 21st of July the Kosovan public has enjoyed internationally recognized works as part of the international film agenda. Moreover, there was also screening of films of the local filmmakers, who participated in the short film competition which was organized for the first time by this festival. The screenings were carried out online as well as in three different cities throughout Kosovo, in Pristina, North Mitrovica and Gjakova/Djakovica.

On the last night of the festival, in the presence of many artists and art-loving public, three more films were screened: “Between the Lines” by Lum Borovci, “Tongue Tied, Tongue Free” by Valmira Rashiti, and “Nosotros” by Albulena Kurti. 

Meanwhile, the Festival closed with the award for three main prizes: the best actress went to Eli Gashi for her role in the short film “A manual for breaking up”, best short documentary film was awarded to Redon Kika for “ I Have Never Been on an Airplane” and the best short film for “Daniel” by Loreta Bërbatovci.

The European Film Festival in Kosovo is funded by the EU office in Kosovo, and is organized by the Europe House in Kosovo.
