A wide range of cultural activities were organized by the EU Office/EUSR in Kosovo on Europe Day, in cooperation with the EU member states, Kosovo government and Municipality of Pristina.
The National Theatre welcomed a large number of guests for the concert of the world-renown Kosovo/Croatian guitarist, Petrit Çeku, organized by the EU Information and Cultural Centre. .
The EUICC in North Mitrovica organized a live performance of rock band “Svi na pod!”.
Meanwhile moviegoers had the opportunity to see the Kosovo-Italian-Albanian co-production Sworn Virgins, which represented Kosovo at Berlinale this year, as well as the movie Ida, the winner of both European Film Academy and the Oscars for the best foreign movie of the year. The projection of both movies was enabled by the EU Office in Kosovo/EUSR and PriFest, the International Film Festival in Prishtina, that returned home after having held its seventh edition in exile in Tirana.
The EU Information and Cultural Centre also entertained the little ones with the puppet theatre Little Prince as well as story-telling within EUICC premises. Young talents of photography and fashion design– following workshops with photographer Atdhe Mulla and designer Blerina Kllokoqi Rogova – exhibited their art works at EUICC. The exhibition was accompanied with musical performance by a young and thriving musician, Blerta Kosova.
As part of the programme to celebrate Europe Day was the EU member states’ fair in Zahir Pajaziti square, which happened simultaneously with amini chess tournament coached by the international chess master, Bogdan Podlesnik. Another educational fair with Finnish, Croatian and British Embassy was held at EUICC, where representatives of the member states presented to interested students available opportunities to study in their respective countries.
