The “For Good Environment” Campaign

Building on the success of the For Good Energy initiative, the European Union expanded its efforts to include environmental awareness under the For Good Environment campaign, launched in March 2024. This campaign aimed to educate and engage the public on key environmental challenges, emphasising the connection between sustainability, climate change, and everyday behaviours.

The campaign shifted its focus to broader environmental issues, including:

  • Water as a resource and water conservation
  • Climate change and its impact
  • Waste reduction and responsible consumption

The For Good Environment campaign was designed to:

– Inform, educate, and raise awareness among the general public about environmental challenges in Kosovo and their link to climate change, encouraging sustainable behaviours.
– Engage students in understanding the importance of lifestyle changes to reduce individual environmental impact.
– Teach schoolchildren about environmental protection and climate change, fostering a culture of responsibility from an early age.

As part of this initiative, various activities were implemented, including educational programs, community engagement events, and media campaigns. A notable event was the EU-supported Green Festival in Mitrovica, where children participated in a reading session of the Planet Defenders book series, with 50 volumes donated to promote environmental education.

The For Good Environment campaign successfully concluded in 2024, leaving a lasting impact on environmental awareness and sustainable practices in Kosovo.
