“Whose Is This Song” – shown at the Europe House in Pristina

The Europe House in Kosovo, in cooperation with TruAktiv and Institute for Social Policy “Musine Kokalari”, have shown the documentary “Whose Is This Song” directed by Adela Peeva. The film, which has won many international awards, presents director Peeva’s a journey to Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Bulgaria, in search of the true origin of a song. Director’s journey is full of humour, suspense, tragedy and surprise, because the people of all the countries claim that the song is theirs. The film, which begins as a simple exploration of the origins of song, ends as a sociological and historical study of deep misunderstandings between the peoples of the Balkans.

Immediately after the screening, the film was discussed by Belgzim Kamber, from Institute for Social Policy “Musine Kokalari”, and Dritan Dragusha, journalist. At the very end, five books were randomly distributed and donated to the attendees.
