Rame Lahaj, a famous Kosovan tenor who is conquering the most prestigious classical music stages of Europe, on the 8th of May amazed the audience in Pristina.

Invited by the Head of EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative Nataliya Apostolova, Lahaj held a concert and a masterclass in Pristina last week, during the Europe Day festivities.

At Amphitheatre of University Library in Pristina, more than 500 people were left speechless during a concert where Lahaj brought up his charisma and his best classical repertoire through classical music emotions. Lahaj performed music from Verdi to Falvo and Puccini, adding some Albanian melodies during the concert. The audience appraised the performance of Rame and brought him back in the stage several times, while cultural personalities of Kosovo were present during the concert and congratulated Lahaj on this beautiful journey.

A day after, Lahaj held a masterclas where he gave advice and trained young Kosovo musicians for a wide range of vocal stretch and shared his own experience in working with different maestros from Europe and other continents.

Rame Lahaj won the renowned Operalia competition in 2016 announced by Placido Domingo himself. His performances include those of Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, the role of Faust in Tel Aviv and the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto!

Upcoming projects in 2017/18 include the title role of Faust in Tel Aviv (role and house debut), Duca/Rigoletto at Savonlinna Opera Festival, Finnish National Opera in Helsinki and Teatro Municipale di Salerno with Daniel Oren, Concert Tour of South Korea, house debut at the Bolshoi in Moscow, Alfredo/La Travita at Opera national de Paris, Duca/Rigoletto at Malmo Opera, Rodolfo/La bohème at Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Pinkerton/Madama butterfly at the Liceu in Barcelona.

Lahaj’s first ever concert in Kosovo gave a whole new energy to Europe Day activities in Kosovo, organized by EU Office in Kosovo and EUICC – European Union Information and Cultural Centre.
