On the 7th of May, the European Union Office in Kosovo and the Europe House launched the third bi-annual campaign, this time focusing on Economy.
‘Lets talk economy’ is the Campaign implemented by the Europe House, and for the next seven weeks will consist of panel, debates, grassroots visits and helping young people throughout a competition for startups.
At the offices of Gjirafa – one of the most successful enterprises in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova – Head of EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative called the economic inter-connectedness between the EU and Kosovo remarkable. She emphasised that the campaign is about inspiring a generation of entrepreneurs in Kosovo.
Vjosa Berisha, Team Leader at the Europe House in Pristina, told the audience about the competition where young people from Kosovo can submit their startup proposals and will have a chance to pitch it in front of potential investors at the closing event of the campaign.
Mergim Cahani, CEO of Gjirafa, stated out that he is happy that the European Union in Kosovo is investing a lot to better the economy of the country, having it also as a top priority.
Greta Kamberi, staff of Gjirafa also pointed out that Gjirafa – starting as a small enterprise and now with more than 80 full time employees, is an example of how much new ideas and startups can help the economy in general.
